The Story

Doug Hartley is an Atlanta-based singer-songwriter with a passion for crafting original music that bridges the gap between Americana roots and Contemporary Rock. Doug Hartley Project was created to help bring the songs to life - to YOUR life. DHP is a team effort, and Doug is very grateful for the dedication of everyone involved.

Born and raised in the American South, Doug grew up surrounded by the sounds that would come to define his musical identity — the raw honesty and grit of Southern rock, the emotional depth of classic Americana, and the classic songs that permeated the airwaves at the time. These influences merged into a sound that is uniquely his own.

Doug began writing songs as a young man, finding in music a way to process the world around him. Over the years, he honed his craft — developing a lyrical style that is both introspective and universal, speaking to the shared human experiences of love, loss, resilience, and hope.

As of September, 2026, Doug has recorded 9 4-song EPs. All of them were produced in Nashville, TN, at Sonic Eden Studios, where Doug worked with talented producers, engineers, and musicians to bring his vision to life. The recordings showcase his versatility as a songwriter, moving seamlessly between heartfelt ballads and driving rock anthems, with diverse topics, points of view, and genres.

When he's not writing or recording, Doug performs live in the Atlanta area, bringing his music to audiences who appreciate authentic, original artistry. He is committed to the craft of songwriting and to connecting with listeners on a genuine, personal level.
